What was that pc game where you played various games with bizzare characters?

You could play all kinds of card games and other traditional games. You got to chose a character to be and those you played against. There was a bear that wore a hat and spoke with an accent, an old lady, an alien, and other strange characters who all had smartass, sarcastic, and funny things to say through out the game. It's been a while since I played this, like maybe late 90s? Perhaps a little later. Anyone know what this could be???|||galaga? cause its the add yahoo is displaying ,,,
