What is the best video game console for kids and adults?

We have never owned a video game console and are looking for one that would be best for young kids and adults. I am very interested in active games like Dance Dance Revolution so I am hoping someone will know the best system for all of us. We are definitely not interested in shoot-em-up games. I have been told to look at GameCube, PS 2, and Nintendo Wii. What do you think?|||The Wii hands down is the best system for kids. A lot of the games they make for that system are made for kids. The x-box 360 has many more games for the hard core fans. I got rid of my Wii because so many games were for kids, and not enough action or mature games. The 360 is all about the serious gamer, they feature many mature and action game for grown ups. So the Wii for the kids and the 360 for the adults.|||wii is the best for young kids, since nintendo games mostly are for young kids. and wii is cheap. it has a unique controller. instead of just sitting on the sofa, you move your whole body. wii's controllers are sense remote control. your kids will enjoy it. a great way to exercise, especially when you play sport games. you dont just press the button, you move your whole body.|||For a family system, I'll repeat the most frequent answer and say the Wii. While they don't carry DDR, they have a wide variety of games, from the sports to Wii Play (almost like a home arcade) to Wario Ware to Cooking Mama Cook-off, geared toward the entire family. They also do make the games such as Medal of Honor, a shooting sim set during our real wars, but they aren't graphic nearly as much as some of the others can be. Nintendo prides itself on their commitment to families, and live up to it with the Wii. Plus, Gamecube games are compatible, giving you two systems worth of games in one package. It only comes with one controller, however, and to play Gamecube games, you need a separate controller. But it is well worth it!

As for the poster who says if the PS3 is the most expensive, it must be the best, there have been serious issues with the PS3, and if the games get scratched, they will never play again. Obviously, cheaper is better here.|||Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. Wii. P.S.: Wii.|||umm nintendo wii is the way to go for kids and adults. its fun its cheap and ur active. go with the wii|||the Wii isn't about graphics, but it still rules. evry1 will want to play it!|||xbox wii and gamecube there all fun|||I have a Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, and a Gamecube, but the system I would recommend for you guys would be the the Wii. The controllers are motion sensitive, so you play games by moving. For example, you can play tennis by swinging the remote like a racquet, or bowling by moving your arms. It's pretty sweet, and everyone in my family always wants to play it.|||Playstation 3.

It costs the most so it's the best.
