What would be a recommendable strategy game?

I have been looking recently for a strategy game for my pc. Specs are no concern. I am a big fan of Command and Conquer Generals (an older game) but not so much of other C%26amp;C titles. My preference would be something with a focus on the actual fighting instead of resource gathering or exploration. Any suggestions? I would prefer an authentic RTS, not a hybrid game like a game from the Total War series.|||Command %26amp; Conquer red alert 3 came out a few months ago which I haven't played yet but its supposed to be very good. Blizzards classics warcraft III and starcraft are also good though they are getting older now. Starcraft II is due to come out this year and will probably be the best RTS for the next several years if it lives up to the first installment.|||You must play, i say it again you must play company of heroes

|||World in Conflict is a must for you, although Supreme Commander gets you thinking in new ways.
