What game should i get the expansions for, fallout 3 or oblivion?

Hello I have recently just started getting back into these two games. I am going to buy some microsoft points and spend them on enough points for 2 expansion packs, either 2 for oblivion, 2 for fallout, or 1 for each. i seriously cant decide, so can someone who has played one or both of them for either game help me decide?|||Coming from someone who has played all the add-ons on both games, i can safely say that Oblivion is definitely where you want to invest your money. Fallout is a great game, but its questing and game play are very limited, as well as it's explorable content. I bought Oblivion over 2 years ago, I have been playing it near constantly, and still have things I can do. It is a much better bet to buy Oblivion add-ons because they will provide you with over 200 hours of gameplay, the game itself having already provided around 800-1000 means you have plenty of gaming and all the time you need to do it.|||it depends what you like more, Fantasy and magic or guns+bombs? lol, personally i love fantasy and magic more because you can do things you wish you could do in real life :)

|||Personally i prefere oblivion, i have played it for 3 years and have done everything multiple times and have 3 diffrent level 46 charecters, and have played both add ons for both games. But the add on's for fallout 3 are much better, although shorter they are much better. Hope this helps :)

|||Definatley fallout. Though oblivion is a fantastic game, fallout 3 is better and the expansions for it are both more interesting, longer and bring with them bonuses all their own. For example the first oblivion expansion is 'the shivering isles' personally I hated it and just when it started picking up, it ended there and then. The second is the knights of the nine, this one i thought was fantastic, had a better story line, better final boss etc, but unlike shivering isles there was no new map.

However, Broken steel (the first fallout expansion) will allow you to reach level 30, aswell as adding a few side quests and continuing the story of the ever waging war between the brotherhood and the enclave.

And my personal favorite of the 5 fallout expansions (notice more than double the ammount given to oblivion) was point lookout because the main quest for that was amazingly good, there was a cool story line, lots of side quests and a whole new map to enjoy. OK take care and hope this helped :)|||Well Oblivion will let you use the add-ons after you have beaten it. Fallout ends when it ends. The Broken Steel add-on does give you more to do after it would normally end (and raises the level cap as soon as it is installed) though you can't beat the game altogether then go do the add-ons like Oblivion. You can find a Game of the Year Oblivion disc used for pretty cheap with the add-ons, Fallout 3 game of the year is coming out soon, but if you already have both, I'd say buy the Fallout add-ons and get a used Oblivion Game of the Year disc for cheap. Then again all the Fallout add-ons would be $50 and the Game of the year will only be $60. So keep those options in mind.|||They are both great games, and I would recommend both. Do you like to shoot things or use swords and magic? That is really what it boils down to. They are both made by Bethesda and are very similar in many aspects. Personally I liked Fallout 3 better. Oblivion has 2 expansion packs (which I have not played) and Fallout 3 has 5 (which I have played). It is a tough call that comes down to personal preference, as both games are must haves for 360 owners. Both games will give you 100+ hours of game play if you want to do everything in the game (this is before you factor in expansion packs). And if you like this type of game do yourself a favor and buy Mass Effect. It has one of the best storylines of any videogame (or major motion picture) and is similar to these games as far as the gameplay experience is concerned.|||Dont buy ms points to buy them, recently they sell 2 dlc's in one for $20 so for example you could get for fallout 3 Operation Anchorage and The pitt in one disc for $20 or Broken Steel and Point Lookout(i think this comes in a few weeks) also for $20

You can also do that for oblivion shiverng isles disc

You can buy ms points and buy them off xbox but idk id rather buy the discs but thats just me

also i think operation anchorage and the pitt is now $10 and im pretty sure shivering isles is $10 now|||Just want to say that what Hastor said in the first answer about Fallout is incorrect; you can keep on playing the updates after you have completed the main quest. This was made possible when they brought out the Broken Steel expansion which also lets you go up to Level 30 rather than 20 (this is Fallouts best expansion believe me)

If you want my advice on what DLC to get Fallout or Oblivion I would say Fallout. Broken Steel and The Pitt are both great. Although Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion is supposedly the best DLC available for any game, I will confirm... it is fantastic. So if you can afford only two, I would get Broken Steel and Shivering Isles.

Hope this helps.|||this is a very tough call.i have both games and all the expansions for both games.the only way to buy the disc with all the expansions for oblivion is to buy the knights of the nine disc for the pc and that doesn't have battlehorn castle on it.for oblivion mehrunes razor would be the one that would give you the most for your money, depending on how you play out the game.the wizards tower is great if you don't want to join the mages guild because you get the spell making and enchanting altars and can zap your self to any mages guild.vile lair lets you become a vampire and cure it and the thieves den gives you a crew to go pillage and someone to buy your stolen goods, plus they all have great storage and their own individual perks.for fallout 3,broken steel ups the level cap to 30 and extends the ending.the pitt and point lookout are both really good add ons that actually feel like part of the original game and not just some add on.operation anchorage and mothership zeta are both pretty good but not a must have unless you have the extra cash, both are fun just not must haves.all of them give you some really cool unique weapons and armor and are a blast to play.sorry this probably didn't help you out but i hope it helps.good luck with your choices.|||well it depends which one is more your style? medieval or sci-fi kinda?

If i had to choose personally id go with fallout 3 some DLC is a 1 time thing but that's OK you get like 6 hours or so out of them plus there are some expansions that actually add a new map that you can explore freely

for Oblivion the knights of the nine doesn't really add anything to the map besides a few new locations that you can go threw so its pretty straight forward, if you had to get 1 expansion for Oblivion I'd go with shivering isles it delivers a WHOLE new map with a lot of quests and some fun things to with some pretty cool new armor and weapons plus it's kinda funky XD|||fallout 3 is more expensive but better in terms of size and missions and objects ,oblivion is cheaper but has no quests personally i would recommend operation:Anchorage and broken steel if you're goin with that it has more play time so i would recommend it but oblivion i would get frostcraig spire, deepscorn hollow, battlehorn castle, and thieves den|||I liked oblivion more overall, which is wierd because I love post-apocalypse and I hate medievel. Each of the expansions for fallout 3 last a few hours at least. The Shivering Isles expansion is more of full-on expansion, while the Fallout 3 expansions are really just little bits to add on to the game.|||OK the only great pack for Oblivion is shivering Isles which is beyond awesome. But for fallout 3 I say in this order of worth Broken Steel, (tie between next two) Mothership Zeta, point lookout, Operation anchorage, and finally The Pitt (because the grounds are actually small, not challenging, and rewards are dumb looking.)|||i say go for fallout 3, all the expansions (other than shivering isles and knights of the 9) all suck in oblivion, you get a deed to an awesome house but you have to spend 15000 gold just to get them in good shape. i know, i bought the add-ons.|||fallout 3. it just (in my opinion) has a better game-play and experience. it really depends on ur preferences. i would choose fallout 3.|||The answer is simple!!! The Fallout is one of the best RPG with incredible graphics. So I suggest you to buy expansions for it!!!|||Oblivion I love thast game and I've played both games.
